Pasa La Sal

When Sarita brings her vegan girlfriend to her family's traditional Mexican barbecue, the family must learn that first impressions aren’t everything.
COLORS: CHARACTERIZATION AND RELATIONSHIPS
-
June's Character
June, a vegan at her girlfriend’s family barbeque, naturally struggles to fit into her environment. I chose red, which is complementary to her green environment, as her outfit color to highlight June’s uniqueness and make her stand out.
-
Alfonso's Character
Alfonso is stubborn about his way of life as well as conventions. Thus, I chose blue for his wardrobe. This creates a visual contrast between him and June, whose lifestyle entirely violates his conventions.
-
Relationship Development
In the end, June is welcomed into the family as she bonds with Sarita’s father, Alfonso. I had both charters shed their outerwear and reveal white, neutral colors that match. This symbolizes the two of them putting down their boundaries and setting aside their differences.
